Each year is taxed independently using that year's own FBR slabs, assuming the same gross salary applied for the full 12 months of every year. This does not model job changes, part-year income, or the surcharge on income above Rs. 10 million — it is meant to show slab-rate trends, not replace exact filing calculations.
Wondering how much income tax will be deducted from your salary this year? Use our free income tax calculator Pakistan tool to find out in seconds. Just enter your monthly or annual salary, and the calculator applies the official FBR salary tax slabs for the selected tax year to show your exact tax liability and take-home pay — no manual math, no guesswork.
This income tax calculator is built for salaried individuals in Pakistan and is updated to reflect the latest tax year, FY 2026-27, effective from July 1, 2026. You can also switch to Multi-Year mode to compare your tax across every year from 2020-21 to 2026-27.
Note: The 9% surcharge that previously applied to salaried individuals earning above Rs. 10 million annually has been removed for tax year 2026-27.
A 9% surcharge applies on computed tax if annual taxable income exceeds Rs. 10,000,000.

How This Income Tax Calculator Pakistan Works
Pakistan follows a progressive tax system, which means your income is divided into brackets (slabs), and each portion of your income is taxed at a different rate — not your entire salary at one flat rate. Here’s how it works step by step: Step 1 — Determine annual taxable income. If you enter a monthly salary, the calculator multiplies it by 12. If your income already varies (bonuses, allowances), the annual figure is what matters for tax purposes. Step 2 — Match your income to the correct slab. Each FBR tax slab has a starting threshold, a fixed base tax, and a percentage rate that applies only to the income above that threshold. Step 3 — Apply the formula. For example, if your annual income falls in the Rs. 1,200,001–2,200,000 slab, your tax is calculated as: Rs. 6,000 + 11% of the amount exceeding Rs. 1,200,000 — not 11% of your entire salary. Step 4 — Convert to a monthly deduction. Your employer withholds this tax monthly at source under Section 149 of the Income Tax Ordinance, so the annual figure is simply divided by 12.FBR Income Tax Slabs — Tax Year 2026-27 (Salaried Individuals)

What Changed for Tax Year 2026-27
The Federal Budget 2026-27 introduced meaningful relief for middle and upper-middle income earners:- More slabs added — the previous top bracket (35% above Rs. 4.1 million) was split into three separate bands, so the highest 35% rate now only kicks in above Rs. 7 million, not Rs. 4.1 million.
- Lower rates in middle brackets — the 2.2M–3.2M bracket dropped from 23% to 20%, and the 3.2M–4.1M bracket dropped from 30% to 25%.
- Surcharge abolished — salaried individuals earning above Rs. 10 million no longer pay the additional 9% surcharge that applied in prior years.
- Tax-free threshold unchanged — income up to Rs. 600,000 annually (Rs. 50,000/month) remains completely tax-free.
Example Calculation
Monthly salary: Rs. 250,000- Annual taxable income: Rs. 3,000,000

- Tax = Rs. 116,000 + 20% of (3,000,000 − 2,200,000) = Rs. 116,000 + Rs. 160,000 = Rs. 276,000 annual tax
- Monthly tax deduction: Rs. 23,000
- Monthly take-home salary: Rs. 227,000

Annual income up to Rs. 600,000 (Rs. 50,000/month) is completely tax-free for salaried individuals in both FY 2025-26 and FY 2026-27.3. Does this calculator include the 9% surcharge?
The surcharge on income above Rs. 10 million applied in FY 2025-26 but has been removed for salaried individuals in FY 2026-27. Our calculator reflects this change automatically based on the tax year you select.4. What’s the difference between monthly and annual mode?

No, this calculator is designed specifically for salaried individuals under the “Salary” income head. Non-salaried individuals (freelancers, sole proprietors, AOPs) are taxed under a different slab structure.6. How is my monthly tax deduction calculated?
Your annual tax liability is divided by 12 to get the monthly deduction your employer withholds from each paycheck under Section 149.7. Are allowances and deductions included?
This calculator estimates tax on gross salary using slab rates only. It does not currently factor in specific exemptions, tax credits, or allowances (e.g., medical allowance, pension fund contributions, Zakat deductions), which may reduce your actual liability.8. Can I use this to double-check my payslip?
Yes — it’s a quick way to verify whether your employer’s monthly deduction matches the official FBR slab rate for your income level.9. Will this calculator update automatically for future tax years?
